After an impressive 36-hole performance in the CJ Cup Thursday and Friday, one thing is clear: The game was a loss from Scottie Scheffler.

Scheffler started the second round (18) on his ninth hole (18th) with eight shots in a row, as Thunder paused the game at 9:46 a.m. When the action recovered nearly six hours later at 4:01 pm, the world’s No. 1 swings. Schaffler swung six birdies in his nine games, hitting a 63-under 63 and released a career-best 36-hole 124–jumping equalized the all-time 36-hole opening.

The game was paused at 8:06 pm CT due to the darkness, which allowed several players to end their rounds on Saturday morning. But Schevler had left his mark. His 36-hole total gave him a six-stroke lead to the third round.
