I am the age of the annual product launch cycle and the driver gets all the hype every year.
But for our well-equipped team, we are more interested in Iron Launches and the summer of 2025 numbers.
Most companies, whether maintaining annual or biennial launch cycles of metal timber, stick to their wires’ two to three-year release cycles. While not always guaranteed, there are at least four numbers between July 1 and October 1, and maybe even five iron launches this summer.
In this week’s golf episode, Johnny Wunder explains why he can’t wait for his first summer launch since leaving Callaway earlier this year.
“For me, that’s where all the nuances happen, right?” Wunder said. “The drivers are like, well, they all go fast, far, straight, wait, wait…but iron is fun because I think the Iron R&D guy is the most interesting R&D guy. Because all the clubs work in Iron R&D.

Obviously, we don’t know who will release new irons this summer, but we can tell you whose irons have been on the market for some time.
Titleist sticks with a two-year product cycle in all clubs, even metal wood, an odd number of iron and wedges. Titleist’s third-generation T-series lineup will be released in 2023.
