Minnesota Frost and Toronto Securities Teres faced in the first round of the game on Sunday, May 11 in St. Paul, Minnesota. The series tied 1-1 with both teams having a full roster. Britta Curl-Salemme returned to the lineup after being suspended as the first game’s head check in Game 2.

The shooting battle is a battle between Maddie Rooney’s Frost and Kristen Campbell’s Scepter. The game starts with all the frost as they jump to the early lead, but the evidence shows they can fight back and they try to do that. They rebounded throughout the game, but Frost was able to maintain the lead and win 7-5.
Game review
Frost had a few strong opportunities early on, and Liz Schepers scored the first goal of the game in just two and a half minutes. Kláran Mylárová and Katy Knoll assisted her with a 1-0 finish to make it. That dynamic has been on the frost when Brooke McQuigge scored her team with a two-goal lead. Grace Zumwinkle made the only assist in the first point in the playoffs. The third and final goal of the Frost period was Lee Stecklein’s third place in the playoff series. Taylor Heise and Kendall Coyne-Schofield assisted her.
The Scepter fought back, and Daryl Watts scored late in the period, making it 3-1. Kali Flanagan and Jesse Comppher assisted her. That was the end of the first stage score, with Frost leading the break.
The second stage began to favor the scepter as Maggie Connors scored her team into the goal. Renata Fast has the only assist. Frost answered McQuigge’s goal, her second goal. Coyne-Schofield and Sophie Jaques assisted her with a 4-2 score.
Jaques scored late in the period, bringing her team a three-goal lead. Mellissa Channel-Watkins and Kelly Pannek assisted her to make it 5-2. However, this was short-lived as Flanagan scored 5-3 after 22 seconds. Watts and Blayre Turnbull assisted her and Frost entered the final stage with a 5-3 lead.
This time in the third stage, the Scepter started to score again. Anna Kjellbin stands out to make it 5-4. Emma Maltais recorded the only assist. Frost answered when Michela Cava scored 6-4. Channel-Watkins and Heise recorded assists. Two minutes later, Kava scored again in the power game, making it 7-4. Stecklyn and Hayes contributed to the assists.
It wasn’t the end of the scoring either, as Blayre Turnbull scored for the scepter, causing her team to return two goals. Savannah Harmon and Compher assisted her. It turned out to be the final goal as Frost continued to win 7-5 and lead 2-1. Frost can win on Minnesota’s home ice on Wednesday, May 14, eliminating the scepter.
