Kulich becomes Amerks

“That’s when he’s going to step up his efforts at that moment, and it’s great to bring him here,” said forward Isak Rosen, who played eight games in Buffalo this season.

Before the playoffs, Kulich’s only 2024-25 AHL action was four games in November. By comparison, Amerks is now seeing a more complete, more mature player thanks to his Sabers experience, compared to his 91-point output between the first two campaigns.

“Just speed, and he has more intensity throughout the ice,” Rosen said. “He won more battles and (used) ruthless in the trailer. And in D-Zone, good at finishing the game – that’s the thing he did well there, and you can see it here now, too.”

When asked about his growth this season, Culici responded to these details, and in addition to those who stood out from the skills to put out of the extinguishing, he tied for eighth among NHL rookies with 15 goals.

Amerks assistant coach Vinny Prostpal worked closely with his fellow countryman Kulich for many years. Prospal believes that these playoffs are a continuation of the 2022 first-round draft picks as NHL centers, rather than a detour.
