Enzo Maresca praised Robert Sanchez for making a string of savings after Chelsea goalkeeper beat Everton 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.
Nicolas Jackson won his first goal in 2025 to end the 13-game drought and ensure Chelsea’s top five and Champions League hopes remain very active.
The three-pointers allowed Maresca’s soldiers to improve at least for the fourth place – but the Chelsea boss picked Sanchez’s contribution after the victory.
“[I am] Very happy. he [Sanchez] Deserved [that] Honestly, because probably over the past few weeks, he has received some bad criticism.
“You can see how your teammates celebrate with him afterwards because he deserves it.”
“How much to save!” 😳
Robert Sánchez’s stop may be a win-win moment 👏

Chelsea headed to Stockholm on Thursday to take over Djurgarden in the first leg of the Europa Conference League semifinals.
Although they still like to cancel the trophy the most, Maresca’s focus has been on getting a spot in the European elite club competition next semester.
“Three-pointers at this stage of the season are very important.
“Performance [against Everton] I think we dominated the first half, we created opportunities, we didn’t admit anything.
“We dropped a little in the second half, but it was part of the game. When we needed to defend, we had a good defense. When we needed to attack, we had a good footstep.
“So, overall, it was a good game, three points and we were very happy.
“Four games are going to the game. I’ve said so many times that when you win the game, you’re going to see yourself there and be happy. If you don’t win, you won’t see yourself there, you’re frustrated.
“That’s how we manage our emotions until the end. What’s important is that we’re there.”
