Cleveland Monsters welcome some rest after working overtime in a back-to-back match against Toronto Marys.

Monsters ended their three first-round best series on Saturday afternoon at the Coca-Cola Stadium. If the series enters the third game, it must also make the monsters played on Sunday afternoon. Next, with the speed of Laval Rocket, any extra rest time is a reward.

“You can see the energy that both teams are falling,” Monsters head coach Trent Vogelhuber Said after winning after the series.

Vogelhuber enters the next round against the regular season champion Rockets, and he knows his team will be ready.

“It’s a huge challenge and a great opportunity for us. Two really good environments for playoff hockey. I can’t wait.”

Lehigh Valley Phantoms is tasked with trying to beat back-to-back defending Calder Cup champion Hershey Bears.

But even in the fierce in-state competition among long-term opponents, Phantom does it from a position of respect.

“I know one thing about Hershey,” Phantom coach Ian Laperriere Said this week. “They compete. They all play in the same way. They are all winning. Especially at this time of year, they are winning.

“That’s the team I look up to. I like his way (Hersh coach) Todd Nelson) Coaching his team, I have a lot of respect for that coach and that team. ”

Laperriere also points out Hershey’s ability to have excellent players, write games, and then encounter opposing mistakes. Proper management of hockey will be the key message for his players.

La Perriel continued: “Our players also respect the way their players play. To beat them, we will have to be disciplined and manage the hockey like they do.”
