Admiral Head Coach Karl Taylor It’s almost possible to wear two full rosters on his growing roster at hand.
Between the players reassigned by the Nashville Predators at the end of the NHL regular season and increased from elsewhere, the Milwaukee roster was crowded. The Admiral had four goalkeepers, 10 defensemen and 18 forwards entered the five Central Finals against Texas.
Taylor manages these 32 players, keeping the task fresh and changing when needed – and will continue to exist.
“We have a lot of good players here and we’re going to put players in and out because we feel what the best roster is to win the game on a day,” Taylor said Tuesday after practice. “It’s a difficult thing. We recognize that. They have to be as prepared as possible so that if there is a chance, they can grab it.”
Fedor Svechkov Spent most of the season in Nashville, playing only 13 regular season games with the Admiral. But the 22-year-old striker returns to Milwaukee to play in the Calder Cup. The 2021 first-round draft pick won the overtime title to eliminate Rockford in Game 5 on Sunday.

“It’s so fun to be a part of this team. We have roles,” Svichkov said.
Entering the Calder Cup playoffs means summer weather in many sites on the AHL Tour.
Based in Cedar Park, Texas, just outside Austin, the stars are used to the heat and humidity generated as spring progresses. Like last Friday, the crowd was filled with the HEB Center as the stars swept the Grand Rapids in their five best central division semifinals. Temperatures in Texas are expected to approach 100 degrees Fahrenheit this week.
Cameron Hughes scored consecutive championship goals in two overtimes to eliminate Griffins, who has been used to the sunshine he played with the Coachella Valley in the past two years. He was also used to loud, clumsy family crowd cheering him and his teammates.
Hughes and his teammates hope to have more games against Milwaukee.
“You do feel this energy for sure.” Jack Becker explain. “It’s a lot amplified, it’s amazing. We appreciate the support and hope we continue to provide the energy.”
AHL New Year’s Rookie Justin HryckowianHe made three assists in Game 3 against Grand Rapids, and he predicted more Texas-style support for this series.
“I think they’ll be loud,” he said. “They’ll be excited. We can’t wait to play in front of them. They were illusory the night before, and I just think that it’ll keep evolving as we keep moving forward.”
