With the debate about slow brutality, former U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover recently made a bold suggestion to help: banning the aiming point extraction technology. Now, the inventor of the green reading process popular among professionals is defeating Glover to defend his creation.
In an episode of “Lucas Glover Show” on Sirius XM PGA Tour Radio in late January, Glover said Aimpoint “needs to be banned” because of its impact on slow gaming.
But he also claims there is no evidence that statistics show that the green reading process (a putter line that requires players to cross multiple points of green) has not helped professionals improve their putters.

It is these comments that led Aimpoint inventor and founder Mark Sweeney to the Bunkered.co.uk.
“It’s a wrong statement. I think it’s a malicious statement,” Sweeney told Bunkered.co.uk. “I think [Glover is] Will have to be returned and withdrawn in the near future. ”
Sweeney said that although he understands that some people don’t like Aimpoint, based on the data, Glover’s criticism is just incorrect.
“Lucas said it never helped anyone, it was crazy,” Sweeney said.
Sweeney then pulled out a specific roster of players who benefited from adopting Aimpoint in the 17 years of debuting on the tour. These players include Adam Scott, Lydia Ko, Stacy Lewis and Scott McCarron.

“That’s not my opinion, it’s Shotlink data,” Sweeney believes. “If you know when the player starts AIMPOINT and look before and after, you’ll get a 90% to 95% faster.”
Sweeney also beat Glover’s argument that Aimpoint slowed down the game, which was recently proposed by Collin Morikawa.
“Accusing it was a false criticism. All I can say is that people who do aiming point reading and then do traditional reading are slower, but there is no reason to do both. We don’t teach this,” Sweeney said.
