Sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania, star guard Anthony Edwards of Timberwolves, Minnesota, was suspended for his 16th technical foul in the NBA season to take a timeout against the Utah Jazz.
Anthony Edwards paid $285,000 in fine this season
NBA rules state that a player gets a single game after committing 16 technical fouls in a season. For every two technologies, the suspension will add one more game.
Edwards was expelled after collecting his 15th and 16th technical fouls of the season in a 111-102 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers from the Timberwolves. The first happened at the end of the opening quarter.
The 6-foot-4 Edwards picked up the technology together as part of the dual academy he received with Jarred Vanderbilt, when both were tangled and pushed each other into the timeout. After obtaining his second skill, he still has 5:21 left in the third quarter.

After the shot, frustrated Edwards threw the ball into the stands, undoubtedly receiving a fine from the league. The three-time All-Star already has five of the season, totaling $285,000.
Edwards felt Lakers guard Gabe Vincent was asked to foul while Edwards tried to drive. Finch did come to Edwards’ defense and said he thought it should be a foul.
“It’s a barrier. Just call the neighborhood and nothing happens,” Finch said. “After that, I really didn’t know what to say, I didn’t say anything. Obviously, it was an obstacle in front of me.”

According to ESPN statistics and information, Anthony Edwards is the fastest 16 technical players since Demarcus Cousins eight years ago.
Timberwolves coach Chris Finch said after the game that Edwards needed to improve their self-control.
“He has to get better. He has exploded so much. I think a lot of it deserves. They’ll miss some calls from time to time, so he has to get better. We’ve been talking to him about it, so it’s on him.”
After the game, Captain James Williams told a pool reporter that the second technical foul was “pointing blasphemy toward the race officials.” Williams added that “considering” a second technique would result in a catapult.
The Timberwolves trailed 74-59 when Edwards had 5:21 left in the third quarter. Minnesota gathered within three of the middle of the fourth quarter.
