The New Jersey Devil enters Las Vegas to face the Golden Knights Sunday night. It was the first game for the devil Netminder Jacob Markstrom since he suffered an MCL injury on January 22. Golden Knights beat Devils 2-0 in a fierce, tense checkout game. Adin Hill stopped all 22 in the third closing game of the season. They rose to 36-18-6; the devil fell to 33-23-6.
For a back-to-back team and On the road, the devil flew around in the first stage. They created some solid opportunities, but Hill stood high. The same goes for Markstrom. Then it was flattened, but no one found the twine.
The second phase began and ended with a scoreless draw as the two teams continued to kill each other. The goalkeepers did not do much tests, but did what they had to do. The Golden Knights then got an early power game in the third quarter and capitalized, with Mark Stone leaning towards Markstrom.

A few minutes later, the Devil had too many men on the ice, and Vegas was capitalized again as Hanifen ripped off Maxtrom from the blue line. Later, in the frame, Jack Hughes was injured after a collision with Jack Eichel, and then walked down the tunnel. The Knights shut him out and closed the book with a 36th victory. They are now in their own buildings 22-6-3.
The Golden Knights will stay on Wednesday to face Toronto Maple Leaf. The Devil will head to Dallas on Tuesday to face the stars.
