Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta quickly congratulated Tottenham on his Europa League victory, but claimed that success or failure was purely a trophy winning would bring problems.
The Gunners will return empty-handed this season after finishing second in the Premier League and reaching the Champions League semi-finals.
Their North London rivals performed rot at home, but did claim a major European trophy when they beat Bilbao’s Manchester United last night.

Arteta refuses to compare the clubs’ respective seasons, but feels that the binary nature of success and failure is of no help.
He said, “A worry? Well, the outside is yes. I mean, you just want to evaluate this and then use those two words [success and failure] That’s it.
“I don’t know what it is because last night was a great example. [Champions League] The final between Inter Milan and PSG is because only if the match is won will be judged.
“If not, they’re gone again like the last 12 years they’ve tried. They’re very different other than that.”
Arsenal is prudent in spending summer
Arsenal ended their season in Southampton on Sunday before adjusting their squad.
Arteta confirmed that he hopes that midfielder Thomas Partey, who won the contract, will stay and they are expected to enter the market.
He added: “Well, what we have, and the amount of damage we are on the front line, we need target threats, we need firepower.
“Understanding the context and tomorrow will change, and we can’t just rely on the previous numbers. We have to add goals, we have to add creativity, we have to add numbers, and that will be in a different position.”
Arsenal had contact with Real Madrid striker Rodrygo this morning, and he was reportedly upset with Santiago Bernabeu.
