Arteta urges Arsenal

Mikel Arteta has called on his Arsenal players to seize the moment and how they will behave tomorrow night when facing Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals.

Arsenal has won two adult performances from defending champion Real Madrid in the last eight games, but Arteta believes there is more.

He said before Emirates’ conflict: “It’s a moment, saying it’s someone we as a team. Play with this mindset. Now, where are the limits, how far are I want to go?

“Especially with the situation this season and how we overcome many problems and challenges, we are now one of the four best teams in Europe. It’s a beautiful story, but we want more.”

Bring Boots – Arteta calls on fans to play every goal

Arsenal fans face a fragile atmosphere inside Madrid, but Arteta wants more.

When asked if this was the best thing he had ever experienced at Arsenal, he said: “Yes, I think so, I’ve been here as a player. Hopefully it will be better. Build our recent experience together.

“More tomorrow! Bring your boots, your shirt, let’s play every ball together. I really hope everyone will give everything tomorrow.”

Arsenal will not have a timeout Thomas Partey, and Arteta reveals left-back Riccardo Calafiori won’t do that.

But news about Ben White and Mickel Merino is better.

“Ben and Mikel can train, let’s see if they can start tomorrow,” he said. “Ritchie can’t train.”

Arteta researched last meeting for inspiration

PSG has won only one of the last four games, including a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa in the second leg of the quarter-finals.

Arteta said he took something from that game, but he also got more in the October league stage win over PSG.

“Obviously, you can learn a lot from each game, it’s different,” he said. “I got a lot from the games I played here and we know how powerful they are.

“The way we play every week will not change.

“We’re doing well in different situations and we’ve shown that again this season.”
