One example is their reported Arsenal dispute, about the relocation of Benjamin Sesko of Leipzig or Viktor Gyokeres of Sports CP, but Arteta insists that the couple will have an effective working relationship.
“Very good, they are two completely different personalities, characters and backgrounds,” Arteta said of the difference between Berta and Edu.
“But he is a very driven and clear person, his ideas, his vision and the way we want to achieve it, and very supportive of everything we do here, and many have contributed greatly to our position as a club today.
“The teams we have, the players and staff we have, he’s ready to add value and make us better. That’s why we chose him to be with us.”
When asked if the manager and Berta worked on the same page for Arsenal transfers, Arteta replied: “About what we have to do, yes.”
The Gunners owner will have his own ideas on how to improve his team, and he will work with Berta and hope to get a more fruitful Premier League title challenge next season.
Mikel Arteta is keen to sign Oihan Sancet for Arsenal
According to Spanish reports, Athletic Bilbao’s offensive midfield sensation, Oihan Sancet attracted the personal attention of tacticians.
The Spaniard labeled himself as one of Ernesto Valverde’s outstanding stars, scoring 17 goals in all competitions, and Arsenal is one of several teams that apparently think he is a serious choice.
Now it is believed that Arteta is personally eager for Sancet’s Arsenal move, who can leave Bilbao’s £67m issue clause and see the 25-year-old as the “ideal connection” between his midfield and forward line.
Man United and Aston Villa are also interested in the Spanish midfielder’s moves, so heading to the Premier League seems like an option.
Given Sancet’s excellent form, not to mention reports that they may lose Nico Williams this summer, we believe Bilbao is unlikely to let Sancet leave his terms with much less value.
