Teacher’s comment: A very pleasant town course. Hidden gems.

I will announce Rogers Town Country Club as a hidden gem.

The course is located on the human race track near Rogers City (population 2,850), but it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Rogers City CC is a park and grass course with a rather traditional nine on the west side of the “Golf Course Road” and a more modern feel on the east side.

The traditional nine (I suspect the original) are a bit like an axe, the first hole spans the top of the blade, the next two holes down the outside of the handle, the fourth hole (the fourth rod (three rod)) is at the bottom of the handle, the fifth running rack, and the remaining remaining blades pour into the inside of the blade.

It’s a strange piece of land, but the routing works.

Rogers City CC’s twelve digits are 394 yards and 4 shots.

Opposite the road, the rear nine poles are more open and hilly. The first nine are classic parks, while the last nine have more grass.

Both nines are very interesting.

No single hole was particularly inspiring, but overall the course went smoothly from the first tee to the end of the green. Rogers City CC is simple with its wide fairways, minimal water and bed.

Rogers City CC’s ninth place is 333 yards and 4 shots.

My favorite hole is the fourth and ninth stroke. This is a 333-yard puppy, leaving four poles. A pine tree on the right threatens to shoot too far, while a pine tree stand on the left will not punish a single shot

The ninth green view of Rogers City CC.

But the attraction is the finish. Green set to the right of the rising Picaresque barn. A bunker on the left threatens the willful shot. Green opens to the right; that’s where to shoot safely. Behind the green is a bit like a hill, framed by tall fescue and other wild grasses.

The barn did it for me. I don’t remember that charm seeing another hole anywhere.

Rogers City CC’s ten are 474 yards and 5 shots.

From the tips, Rogers City CC just exceeded 6,000 yards, which makes it very friendly. The course has two five-shot five and four-shot three-pointers. It was done with 3 strokes, which was unusual in my experience.

Ball mount code grade slope
Blue 6, 144 69.9 124
White 5,838 M: 68.1 W: 74.2 M:118 W:129
Gold 5,272 M: 65.8 W: 70.7 M: 109 W: 122
Red 4,767 M: 63.4 W: 68.2 M: 102 W: 115

I was in good condition the day I played. The serving box, fairway and green are in good condition. The entire course is neat and well preserved.

Rogers City CC is also a very beautiful course. Tall fescue and wildflowers adorn the edges of many holes, providing a contrasting texture and color to the preserved fairway.

Roger City CC is about an hour from GolfBlogger’s Northern Michigan summer headquarters, but I’m definitely going to return to this charming class.
