Aston Villa offers bid to sign ‘unique’ £21m defender and receives replies

Aston Villa has tried to sign a defense lawyer several times and submitted two bids, and they have now received a response, a report said.

This is according to a report from Panama, passed by a sports witness, which shows that Aston Villa is now very keen to sign Marseille’s Michael Amir Murillo, who has made two proposals to sign right back, both of which were knocked out by Ligue 1 Side.

Villa has made several attempts to sign Murillo, and Villa is determined to sign him, a deal unlikely to undermine the bank, reporting that Marseille hopes to receive a fee of 25 million euros (£21 million).

It is unclear whether the Villas are willing to match the asking price of the French club, and the arrival of the right-back may depend on whether Matty Cash or Andres Garcia will set off this summer, considering Emery has already stored well in the right-back area.

The report highlights that since Roberto de Zerbi arrived in Marseille last summer, the Panama International has increased playtime, with his versatility being exhibited throughout the 2024-25 campaign, usually at right and centre-backs.

So given his ability to hold multiple positions, the 29-year-old’s arrival may not depend on cash or Garcia’s departure this summer, and he obviously impressed de Zerbi, saying: “Murillo has unique characteristics. Therefore, it is not easy to replace him, especially among players of similar quality. ”

That said, given the age of the multi-purpose defender, he is doubtful about whether the team is a necessary addition, especially given the fact that Emery has cash and Garcia, although the latter has not yet consolidated himself as a regular starter.

Not only that, Emery also has plenty of storage in the centre-back department, retaining Paul Torres and Ezri Konsa, while Tyrone Mings is Villa’s most stable performance in the Premier League in the 2024/25 sports.
