However, ahead of the ongoing third Test between India and Australia, Matthew Hayden got injured. The cricketer-turned-commentator injured his calf while playing cricket and was seen with a strap on his calf while sitting on a bus.
Matthew Hayden spoke about how he was injured in a video that has been circulating online. He first said jokingly that he was too excited when explaining and ended up getting injured. However, he soon revealed the real cause of the injury.

Matthew Hayden says he tipped over his calf while trying to hit a big shot ahead of the Brisbane Test. However, he mentioned that he still managed to score. The former Australian player said:
“It's what you call an old-guy injury. I was excited in the dugout. No, it was the day before the game. I just hit a big ball and it rolled over my calf and he went, oh no, trouble .

Australia were in top form in Brisbane, reducing India to 51/4 after posting 445 in the first innings

At stumps on Day 3, India were 51/4 with KL Rahul (30*) and Rohit Sharma in the lead.
