Avalanche acquires Brindley, picks from Columbus | theahl.com

Colorado Avalanche has been obtained Gavin Brindleyselected the third round choice at the 2025 NHL Draft, and the conditional second round choice in the 2027 NHL Draft in exchange for the forward Charlie Coyle and Mile Wood.

Brindley, 20, was Columbus’ second round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft (34th overall). He spent his 2024-25 rookie season with the Cleveland Monsters in the AHL, recording six goals and 11 assists in 52 games. He also played four games in the 2025 Calder Cup playoffs.

Brindley joined the Blue Jacket after two seasons at the University of Michigan, and in 2023-24, he was named the Top 10 Conference Player of the Year. He made his NHL debut against Carolina on April 16, 2024.

Internationally, Brindley won the gold medal against the United States in the 2024 IIHF World Youth Championship, finishing second on the team with 10 points in seven tournaments. He also won a bronze medal with the U.S. Youth Team in the 2023 game.
