The Lily White lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich in the first leg of the third round with the Germans, meaning everything was played in north London.
Steve Archibald had 40 minutes left with the tie just 40 minutes left before taking the Spurs to the quarterfinals before Mark Falco won the late championship.
They reached the final and beat Anderlecht 4-3 with free throws, the last European trophy the Spurs won.

Champions League quarterfinals, second leg (2018/19)
Although this may have been a failure of the night, the Spurs’ tenacious performance at Atihad made them qualified for the dramatic Champions League semifinals.

Bale became the star of the show again, but this time, the Spurs won. The goals from Rafael Van Der Vaart and Peter Crouch gave the two-goal advantage at home, and Samuel Eto’o reduced the debt with a 10-minute journey.

The Spurs reached their third UEFA Cup final in 12 years as they took Anderlecht on both legs.

The Spanish side did not reach the level of their city rivals, Real Madrid, but still raised the challenge. However, Nicholson’s team made them pack with a stunning 5-1 win.
Captain Danny Blanchflower gathered around Jimmy Greaves and Terry Dyson when he doubled, and coupled with a strike by John White, secured the club’s first European trophy.
In the process, the Spurs became the first British side to win in European competitions.

Mauricio Pochettino has built something special in the Spurs, and the 2017/18 season was their second in the Champions League under his leadership.
They collapsed in the group stage of the 2016/17 season, but the second year did make a difference.
Although in a team that includes Real Madrid, Dortmund and Appal, the Spurs won five of six games, including a 3-1 victory over Madrid.
Dele Alli’s stand and Christian Eriksen’s goal gave the home lead 3-0, then Cristiano Ronaldo won the comfort.
Considering Madrid has won the game over the past two seasons – and will continue to win the all-time victory against Liverpool that year – it is arguably one of the best results in Spurs history.

Champions League Semi-finals, second leg (2018/19)
In the 2018/19 season, the only victory over Real Madrid was the second season of the semi-finals.
The Spurs lost the first leg 1-0 and when they scored two goals just 35 minutes later in Amsterdam, the tie looked dead and buried.
However, Lucas Moura scored twice in five minutes to give the outside chance. All they need is a goal to reach the first Champions League final.
In the 96th minute, Mura became a hero again. With a few seconds left, he locked in a channel into the box and then placed his left foot effort at the bottom corner of the Ajax net, sparking a craziest scene among away supporters.
It was an amazing comeback and it didn’t seem to have happened an hour ago. This is undoubtedly the best European game in the club’s history, no doubt. They lost to Liverpool, but supporters will always remember the semifinals.
