David Benavidez says his experience will be too much for WBA “regular” light heavyweight champion David Morel and he hopes to knock him out in the later rounds of the February 1 headline fight knock down.
Benavidez (29-0, 24 KOs) believes he has an advantage against Morel (11-0, 9 KOs) because of his experience in many ” I faced powerful opponents in “50-50 Battle”. He didn't mention who he had fought in what was considered an even-money match during his career, but that's what he claimed.
Morel has a slight advantage over Benavidez in terms of youth, strength, technology, and mobility. He also wears less. Benavidez often took hits because he was a slugger who would get in front of his opponents and overwhelm them with shots.
He was able to break away from that style because of his breakdowns against smaller and older fighters at 168 pounds. Now, Benavidez is 175 and he's been fighting right where he's supposed to be, he's been hit hard and he's had to change his style to avoid getting knocked out.
Benavidez vs. Morrell will headline the PBC Prime Video PPV on February 1 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
“I want to prove that I'm the best in the world and the only person besides Bivol and Beterbiev is David Morel. That's the best fight I can see. This is not The easiest fight. It’s probably the hardest besides Beterbiev and Bivol,” David Benavidez said to Tobin.
“He said something to me and said I was running from him. I had to test his temperature and let him know I was going to be here all night. I'm not running from anyone and when this fight is over, he You will know who the best David is,” Benavidez said of Morel.
“Canelo kind of hindered my chances of achieving greatness. I think everyone is protecting their O right now. You have to show people what you're made of. That's what I'm doing in this fight.
Canelo is doing the same thing as Benavidez and Morel. He didn’t condone Benavidez. If he's been fighting the best to build his fan base, Canelo will fight him. Canelo's opponents are guys with fans and they bring something to the table. We already saw that when Benavidez faced off against Demetrius Andrade on PPV, he was The results in the game were poor, but he couldn't sell.
“Every fight I play is a tough, competitive fight and it looks like it's 50-50. But I'm going to do my thing and show why I'm the best in the world,” Benavid said. Si said.
Benavidez has never gone 50-50 in a fight during his 11-year career. He's always been the favorite in the game and that's the problem. He had taken risks so far in his conflict with Morel, and he did so only because he almost had to.
Benavidez's best wins:
– Demetrius Andrade: 35
– Caleb Plant
– Alexander Gvozdyk: 37
– Anthony Dirrell: 38
——Ronald Gavriel
“That's the difference between me and him. He fights guys that are not so good. That's why he gets these assignments ahead of schedule,” Benavidez said of Morel. “I’ve played against experienced guys, veterans, and I’ve gotten through to them late.”
Morel's most recent opponent, Radivoje Karadzic, is better than anyone Benavidez has ever faced. Gvozdyk was a good boxer before retiring in 2019, but he was out of action for four years before returning in 2023.
Gvozdyk had defeated three division two fighters before facing Benavidez on May 15, going 12 rounds with him in what appeared to be a draw. Benavidez's performance was terrible and his performance was nowhere near the performance of Artur Beterbiev in his October 18, 2019 fight against Gvozdyk.
“It's going to be my experience fighting him and trying to knock him out quickly. I'm 100 percent focused. I know the fight won't be easy, but it'll probably end in the later rounds,” Benavidez said of the fight. Morell said during the game.
