Man City Talks about Claudio Echeverri Loans with Lazio
Another player who might move in the next few months is teenager Claudio Echeverri. Echeverri signed from River Plate in January 2024, on loan with his front side, making a total of 48 senior appearances for River Plate and contributing 12 goals.
Echeverri hasn’t made his senior city debut yet, and according to Italian reports, relayed by Sport Siments, City is talking to Lazio about Echeverri loans for next season.
The offensive midfielder was recently in a restaurant and was very close to Lazio’s Formello training center and had negotiations on a temporary transfer for the 2025/26 season.
The 19-year-old has received some huge names in the football world, including former Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez, who said: “Echeverri is a talent, exceeding three goals against Brazil [for Argentina’s U-17 side]he is a different football player, but it is involved in the reconnaissance area. ”
Meanwhile, Angel Di Maria has previously said: “You can see him emitting some fire in him and we’re definitely looking at him. He has a lot to give. We’ve seen it. It’s great that the coaching staff has provided these types of opportunities for young children to be able to enjoy with older people in this beautiful moment of life.”
Echeverri himself believes he can make special connections in Etihad. “Yes, I think so. Especially because of the players who come here and do a good job – Aguero, Alvarez, Zabaleta. They are all very important players who have played here.”
But, from the point of view, the Argentines are on loan at Lazio for £780,000 a year, and they are still fighting for the Europa League champion under Marco Baroni.
