‘Excellent’ £21m Ace is increasingly likely to sign the Spurs and replace Bissouma

Now, it is increasingly possible for a “stellar” midfielder to join Tottenham this summer, with some impressive performances in recent weeks, according to a report.

Bissouma to replace long-term as Spurs program

Yves Bissouma has been getting regular game time since arriving from Brighton & Hove Albion before 2022-23, but midfielders have started playing a major role this season, often used as a substitute or on the bench.

Therefore, reports suggest that Ange Postecoglou is ready to cash out the former Brighton man this summer, meaning the manager will need to be replaced and many goals have been set.

Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace, worth about £66 million, is one of the names on the list, along with Real Betis’ Johnny Cardoso, a February report showed that they had first choice among midfielders due to a clause from the Spurs.

According to Florian Plettenberg, the Spurs are now interested in an Arsenal.

Givemesport has now abandoned a new update about Tottenham’s pursuit of Cardoso, reporting that Lilywhites is now increasingly likely to trigger the midfielder’s £21m clause to bring him to North London this summer.

In August, active negotiations with Betis, the 23-year-old has been impressed since then, and recently performed well in Real Madrid in La Liga last weekend.

Real Betis' Johnny Cardoso celebrates their first goal

Given the impressive performance of the midfield midfield, the Spurs are now confident that a £21m fork would be a shrewd investment, but they are continuing to analyze whether he is suitable.

Defensive midfielders can serve as direct replacements for Pesoma, and postecoglou decided this summer might be the right time to cash in on Mali International.

“Excellent” Cardos was impressed by La Liga

The Betis star had a great last time against Real Madrid, scoring his start goal in his 2-1 win, but as free agency scout Ben Mattinson pointed out, he tends to sit deeper and prosper on the defensive end.

The fact that the U.S. International team has performed well on several key defensive metrics over the past year has confirmed this assessment, suggesting that he may be a real upgrade for Bisoma.

It was a savvy move for Tottenham to negotiate a £21m offering clause for Cardoso, which seems to be less than his value, and judging by the way he performed in La Liga, if he continues to impress him, they should undoubtedly raise the £21m this summer.
