Liverpool signs ‘outrageous’ £25m gem in the game, who signed ‘comparable’ with Messi

Liverpool are now signing a “outrageous” attacker who has compared with Lionel Messi, but their Premier League rivals may compete fiercely, a report said.

Mohamed Salah still hasn’t signed a new contract to stay in Anfield and is full of doubts about Darwin Nunez’s future in Merseyside, and now the Reds are happy to approve the departure of dominating Uruguay in the summer transfer window.

Nunez has been very disappointing this season, winning just seven goals in all competitions, with Nottingham Forest being considered a £50m bid.

So the Reds have begun to look at new forwards, and the Wolverhampton Rangers’ Matheus Cunha is the latest forward, linked to the move and to contact whether the Brazilian is interested in heading to Anfield.

Arne Slot’s side also crossed Joao Pedro with Brighton & Hove Albion, which is seen as a similar replacement for Nunez, while Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman, who can play on the wings and center, is another option for Merseysiders.

Any new signing will be difficult to replicate Salah’s figures, but Liverpool has now turned their attention to another underperforming player, and the Boot Room report shows they are interested in Lyon’s Rean Cherki.

Cherki did start playing this season, refuting previous concerns that he didn’t have the right attitude to reach the top, and he struck a deal with Lyon, leaving less than £25 million this summer.

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in strikers, while the Premier League, namely Manchester United, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and many other potential suitors in Arsenal.

Cherky was impressed in France and Europe

The Frenchman undoubtedly started to attract the attention of many of Europe’s top clubs as he has performed very well against Lyon this season, amassing eight goals and 18 assists in all competitions.

Eight of those assists played in the Europa League, the 21-year-old led his quarter-finals, and journalist Dean Jones praised his skill level as “outrageous”.

Not only that “Cherki is comparable to (Lionel) Messi in terms of technical quality.”

So the £25 million price may be a bargain for Cherki, whose performance shows that he has developed considerable achievements this season, and at just 21 he may still be beyond his peak.
