Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca believes Cole Palmer’s recent purposeless run was “a mental thing” before Everton’s visit to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Palmer set a record of 14 goals in his first 23 games of the season, failing to find the net in his last 16 games.

Still only 22 years old, Palmer has become amulet for Stamford Bridge, and his manager insists that the poor absurdity of the England international in front of goals is nothing more than a matter of confidence.
“It’s a spiritual thing to be sure, it’s not tactical or technical,” Maresca said.
“Cole is still the player who scored 14 goals in 20 games. The style is the same, the manager is the same, the club is the same. There is no change around Cole. It’s just that moment in spirit.
