Premier League trio Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in signing Ajax left-back Jorrel Hato.
The product of the famous Ajax Academy 19-year-old Jorrel Hato made its debut in January 2023 and has not looked back since. Last season, the teenager made 46 appearances in the otherwise hot Ajax. He has been outings this season, scoring three goals and six assists in the process.
The Six Dutch International is considered one of Eredivisie’s best defender prospects, which has led to his connections with several top clubs in Europe. Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal reportedly scouted Harto in recent matches and will intensify their interest in signing him this summer.
Ajax talent Jorrel Hato on Premier League radar
Hato has two strong back-to-back seasons in Ajax, so he will be one of the well-known youngsters to enter the summer transfer market.
Given their transfer policy for global investment in high-rated talent under the Todd Boehly-Clearlake capital system, it is not surprising that Chelsea’s interest in Ajax left-back is. They needed a reliable left-back to compete and cover Marc Cucurella, which was not available last summer after Renato Vega arrived from FC Basel and was loaned to Juventus in January. In this regard, Harto will be a good choice for them.
As for Liverpool, Arne Slot is watching a long-time replacement for Andy Robertson, whose performance level has dropped. The Scottish captain looked very leggy and lacked the enthusiasm and energy to plunder the left in the left during the Jurgen Klopp era. Plus, Kostas Tsimikas didn’t do enough to show that he might be Robertson’s internal successor. Therefore, the Anfield Chiefs will welcome Harto’s talent and potential players.
Meanwhile, Arsenal has good stocks in the left back department. Last summer, they signed Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna as an upgrade to Oleksandr Zinchenko. Mikel Arteta also oversees the rise of Hale graduate Myles Lewis-Skelly in the first team, while Kieran Tierney is still in the Arsenal book. Therefore, at present, Hato’s talent at the UAE Stadium certainly does not have many direct requirements.
To be honest, Harto’s ideal destination is Liverpool. A settled club with good ambitions and clear pathways to allow young talents to develop and unlock potential, and Ajax’s left-back will be a wise choice if an offer is made this summer.
