When comparing Santos with Moises Caideo and Roméo Lavia this season, you can see that the young midfielder has already performed well in certain metrics, winning more tackles per 90 times, providing more target threats and making the trio’s most ball recycled.
Another key factor in Santo’s success, and why Chelsea fans are excited about the integration next season, is due to injuries issues since Lavia joined the club, which has managed only 596 minutes of action so far this season, compared to just 32 minutes last season.
Jacek Kulig has praised Santos as an “incredible” midfielder, the Brazilian is only 20 years old and has surpassed the likes of Caicedo and Lavia of a large number of basic metrics, which shows that he is ready to play for Chelsea next season.
Next season, the Blues will have Caicedo, Lavia, Enzo Fernández, New Signing Dario Essugo and recovered the Santos from his Strasbourg loan, which gives them an extremely strong depth in the midfield area, which should provide Maresca with an excellent foundation for moving forward for his team.
