Chelsea: Every sign-up produced by Todd Boehly at Stamford Bridge
The full list is absolutely crazy!
Here are the details of Chelsea’s 11 most expensive signatures:
11
Christian Pulse
£58 million from Dortmund
Chelsia signed Chelsea in January 2019 by Bundesliga giant Dutchman Borussia Dortmund. The winger was starring in Germany and the Blues hoped he would sweep the Premier League, but unfortunately, it never came true.
Pulisic made 145 appearances at Chelsea before selling to AC Milan for £20m in 2023.
10
Romeo Lavia
£58 million from Southampton
Romeo Lavia finally got a chance to get a Chelsea color after most of Romeo Lavia’s seasons derailed due to injury.
He saw him suffer some of the same problems with his second campaign at Stamford Bridge, but he at least showed why Chelsea was willing to spend £58 million on him when he left Southampton in the summer of 2023.
An injury-free season may be the key to Chelsea, like spending a lot of money.
9
Alvaro Morata
£60 million from Real Madrid
The oldest top 11 is Alvaro Morata, who scored a £60m club record from Real Madrid in 2017. The striker’s move to England did not work in the end, with the Spaniard returning to La Liga in 2019 with Madletico Madrid and then moving it a year later.
Morata is currently the captain of the Spanish national team, scoring 24 goals for Blues in 72 games.
8
Mark Cucumber
£60 million from Brighton
Chelsea won the Manchester City lead in 2022 for over £60m, signing left-back Marc Cucurella from Brighton and Hove Albion, with the Spaniard playing left-back role at Stamford Bridge.
Cucurella is a former Barcelona young man who was impressed with the Seagull led by Graham Potter in his first year in England, and the two will soon be reunited when the Blues bring the latter into the latter a month later.
7
Mykhailo Mudryk
Shakhtar Donetsk’s £62m
Chelsea led the way in Arsenal, signing Shakhtar Donetsk’s winger Mykhailo Mudryk for £62m in 2023, with Ukrainian International signing an eight-and-a-half-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are still early in his career and hope that over time, a deal turns out to be a smart business.
His Chelsea deal could total £89m, but hasn’t had much success so far, and Shakhtar looks like he’ll miss a bonus worth nearly £30m.
6
Wesley Fofana
Leicester City £70 million
Central defender Wesley Fofana was brought to Stamford Bridge from Leicester City in 2022, but the Frenchman’s accommodation in Chelsea has been hurt so far.
But considering that he signed a seven-year contract, the Blues still have enough time to get the best from the Frenchman, the Frenchman spent £17 million on the West Londoner – proving that Leicester will surely know how to get decent money for promising centre-backs.
5
Kai Havertz
Bayer Leverkusen’s £71m
versatile attacker Kai Havertz was brought to the UK by Chelsea in 2020 to join Bayer Leverkusen’s £71m contract.
The Germans continued to score a victory goal for Bruce in the 2021 Champions League final against Manchester City before being sold to rival Arsenal in 2023, with Chelsea bringing most of the money they spend on the players.

Romelu Lukaku
£97.5 million from international currencies
Forward Romelu Lukaku returned to Chelsea in 2021, staying for the second time at Stamford Bridge, Blues paid the Belgian a £97.5m club record fee.
At first it seemed like a master, Lukaku scored freely in a Chelsea shirt, but over time it turned out to be an expensive mistake, with the player in Italy on loan with Milan and Roma in recent years before being sold by Chelsea for the second time, this time Napoli.
2
Enzo Fernandez
£107 million from Benfica
Midfielder Enzo Fernandez joined Chelsea in 2023 with a £107 million contract shortly after winning the World Cup with Argentina.
It was a British record at the time, and although it could be said that the midfielder was still trying to repay the price, he wore the captain’s armband without Reece James.
