Cristiano Ronaldo signs new contract at al-nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a new contract at al-nassr to end speculation about the Portuguese superstar’s coming months.

Although Saudi Arabian clubs have not issued an official statement yet, they posted a video on social media with “The story continue and al-Nassr historic Leader.”

The player himself also retweeted the post on X, and later he confirmed the news earlier today reported that the 40-year-old had been extended for two years.

He was accompanied by this message: “A new chapter begins. The same passion, the same dream. Let us make history together.”

Ronaldo’s al-nassr turn around

It represents a big turn of Ronaldo, who last month hinted that he would leave the Riyadh club after posting a message: “This chapter is over. Story? Still writing. Still writing. Thanks to everyone.”

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker, who has ties with the club in the ongoing Club World Cup, remains key to his professional league appearance, is believed to be both keen on signing him.

The news was published the day after Al-Nassr announced that manager Stefano Pioli had left. The Italian will return to Serie A with Florence.

Portugal coach Roberto Martinez appointed Ronaldo in his National League last month, while Selecao’s all-time leading scorer scored in the semi-final against Germany, a final goal against Spain as his country became the champion.

The five-time Champions League champion scored 35 goals in 41 matches in 2024/25, becoming the top scorer of the professional league for the consecutive season, although Al-Nassr scored 13 points for champion Al-Ittihad in third place.

Ronaldo’s wealth will increase

On Forbes’ top earning athletes list, only boxer Floyd Mayweather Ronaldo received $300 million (£226 million) in 2015 and $285 million (£214.5 million) in 2018.

Ronaldo is said to have exceeded $1 billion (£771 million) in career income and two years later became the most eye-catching footballer to move to Saudi Arabia after leaving Manchester United in December 2022.

Ronaldo’s al-NASSR transaction is reportedly worth £14.75.55, and £3.4 million per week. His annual salary is said to be £177 million a year, and his football salary is £62 million and supplemented with business bonuses.

The player, known as CR7, has a variety of lucrative sponsored deals, and his recent endorsements include Hoop, video game UFL and cryptocurrency exchange second-hand currency.
