Devil Signature Cody Glass 2 Years Delay – Hockey Writer – New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devil announced today that the team has agreed to a deal with Center Cody Glass for a $5 million contract with an average annual value of $2.5 million.

Glass is a restricted free agent. He scored 6 goals, 22 points, 16 minutes, 91 shots, 53 hits and 38 blocks in 65 regular season appearances between the Pittsburgh Penguins and New Jersey between 2024-25. The 26-year-old is expected to start the upcoming season with the next six roles.

Glass skated in his sixth NHL season and was acquired in a deal with the Penguins in exchange for Chase Stillman, an unsigned draft pick, Max Graham and New Jersey’s 2027 2027 third-round pick on March 7, 2027.

The Devil is said to have allowed the glass to arrive at free agents without a qualified offer. Still, they changed their mind after looking at what is available in the free agent market.

Glass registered his NHL debut on the Vegas Golden Knights on October 2, 2019, when he also registered his first career NHL Point and Goal. He spent two seasons in Las Vegas and was traded to Nashville Predators for Nolan Patrick on July 17, 2021. Glass played for three seasons in Nashville and recorded a career-high 14 goals, 21 assists and 35 points in 2022-23. After being acquired by the Penguins in the 2024-25 season, he scored 15 points (4G-11A) in 51 games.
