Luis Enrique

Luis Enrique said Paris Saint-Germain will have to contain Liverpool’s “three fighters” when the two sides meet in the Champions League tomorrow.

The Ligue 1 leader has been outstanding in recent weeks, winning 18 of the last 20 games in all competitions, but former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique remains alert to the Mercedes, especially their offensive trio against Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo.

“This is one of the best attacks in Europe. It’s important to be careful not to suffer too much during the transition period. There are three fighters in their offense and they have to stop. The goal tomorrow is to be better than the opponent. We will have to face challenges, but that’s our goal, and that’s what motivates us tomorrow.”

Luis Enrique is a big fan of Arne Slot

Luis Enrique also praised his relative number Arne Slot, who has been impressed since taking over from Jurgen Klopp of Anfield.

Liverpool ranks first in the improved Champions League group stage and leads the Premier League.

He added: “Liverpool is one of the best teams in Europe in recent years. We will face the best team in the Champions League so far this season.

“It might be hard to do better for Arne Slot after his time at Jürgen Klopp, but he managed to create a perfect team that knows how to press, defend and attack. They know how to use attacks and fast attacks.

“It’s a very complete team, but it motivates us. It’s an opportunity for us all to prove that we have the ability to rise to this level.”

Two teams who love to rule – Louis Enrique

It should be a fascinating encounter with Princess Parker des Princes, returning next week at Anfield.

“We are two dominant teams,” said Luis Enrique. “Tomorrow, there will be two slightly different ideas, but with this shared desire to dominate the opponent.

“I think we are two similar teams, and even if Liverpool is certainly more physically developed, we are the intensity of our investment. On the surface, I think this is one of the best meetings we’ve seen in Europe right now. It’s going to be very, very interesting.”
