Devin Haney holds open training session in London today

Devin Haney will hold an open training session in London, England today at 2:00 PM to work out in front of his British fans. He didn't arrange a fight.

Haney in London: Seeking UK boost

Dave's behavior is strange because he's not fighting the British; He had just suffered an embarrassing loss and his stock was low. He looked eager to make the move, but it's indicative of where he is in his career.

It would be terrible for Haney if few fans and media came to watch him practice. However, it is likely that a considerable number of British media will turn up so that they can be interviewed.

Some believe the move is an attempt to build Hani's brand overseas in the hope of being selected by Turki Sheikh to fight on one of his Riyadh season cards. By training in London, Devon, a former two-division world champion, will gain the attention of the British media and potentially attract the attention of Turki.

If he wanted to add Devin to one of his cards, he could pit him against a formidable opponent such as Richardson Hitchens, Liam Parrow or Jalen Ennis. It’s doubtful Haney would agree to fight these guys because he doesn’t want to risk a rematch with Ryan Garcia.

Haney loses A-list status

In the United States, Haney's stock plummeted following his loss to Ryan Garcia and his decision to file a lawsuit and retire from the ring for a year rather than fight. Judging from where his career is now, it doesn't look good for him.

As a result of that loss, he is no longer one of the top boxers and his chances of returning to his former lofty status are slim. No champion was as weak as the one Haney defeated and won the world title in both weight classes.
