Devin Haney Mysterious Message: Hiding in 2025? Who is he talking about?

Devin Haney posted a cryptic message on social media tonight saying he is expected to be sidelined in 2025.

He didn't say who would shun him, but he could be talking about Ryan Garcia, as his promoter Oscar De La Hoya said his first fight after his suspension expires in April won't be with Devin Make a match.

Devin and his father, Bill Haney, wanted a rematch with Kingery to avenge last April's loss. Additionally, this is Haney’s highest-paid fight of 2025 (31-0, 15 KOs). He would regret taking part in this battle for the rest of his life.

Dave has to beat Garcia to show fans that his 12-round majority decision loss to Garcia on April 20 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn was just a bad night. Haney was knocked down three times in that fight and three more were not counted by the referee.

Andrade criticizes Haney

“Originally, I considered Devin Haney for a long time because I thought he would develop into a Sugar Ray Leonard type of guy, but it hasn't been trending in that direction lately,” Demetriou said Andrade originally said this about him during his time with Mill City Boxing.

“I don't know if he [Haney] Are you too complacent? He's young because they make a lot of money and then they stop working. I'm not saying he doesn't work hard. I think he's going to be the guy to beat tanks in the future. Beat a lot of people, to be honest.

“I think he's got the ability to beat everybody but Ryan Garcia. Even though he took that little bit of substance, he didn't show any dominant skills against Ryan, who at times looked like Like shit. He was tired,” Andrade said.

If Andrade seriously thinks Haney will be the next Sugar Ray Leonard, that means he wasn't there when the fight took place. Haney’s fighting style is completely different from Leonard’s. Even the old version of Sugar Ray from 1997 was higher than Devin in terms of talent.

“There were a lot of rounds in that fight where Devin was supposed to be squeezing and pushing, but he wasn't,” Andrade said. “He just let it go on and then he threw Caleb Plant's jab at them. It didn't do nothing and Ryan just went 'poof.' It was a tough fight,” Andrade said of Haney's loss to Garcia.

Haney tried to neutralize Ryan's left hook by clenching too much, but he kept getting pinned as he tried to catch him. He got away with it this way in both fights with George Kambosos Jr. and a clash with Vasily Lomachenkop. That strategy didn't work for Garcia.
