There are two types of golfers: those who appreciate every long warm-up session, and those who are still tightening their golf shoes when they arrive at the first T-shirt with their car tires screaming.
Sometimes, though, golfers in the former group may find themselves unexpectedly delayed and are forced to speed up their usually laid-back pre-select routine. What should you do when you have only five minutes of preparation before serving time? In a week’s emergency, Subpar co-host Drew Stoltz shared his preferred approach.
“The first thing you have to do is pull up and grab two clubs, there are only two clubs,” Stolz said. “We have only five minutes, we can’t waste time, okay?
“When you get closer to the range, then reach the left side toward the bar.”
that’s right. When time is tight, Stoltz recommends giving up traditional range warm-ups, which are beneficial for hunting.
“Face it, in five minutes, you won’t be able to do anything,” Stoltz explained. “You have to grab a wedge, a driver, you cross out some wedges, you hit some bad drives, and then when you reach the first tee, your confidence will be shot.”
According to Stoltz, drinking is a more meaningful idea.
“Do what makes you happy, do something you are good at.” “That’s a drink.”
Once Stoltz has mastered the blood transfusion, it is time to proceed to step 2.
“Now we have the most important thing in hand. We have a cup in our hands.” “You have only three, four minutes left. Some of them are trying to have a little cram meeting. Not necessary. All you need is a little stretch.”
Remember those two clubs you caught? Use them to twist and stretch a little, and do some exercises to swing.
“It’s much better than getting into range and hitting the terrible shot because when you head to the tee, you have low confidence,” Stolz said. “I feel the bender. I feel good. I have a drink in my hand. It’s time to go to the first T-shirt and ask for a breakfast ball.”
