Briton Marco Penge has been suspended by the DP World Tour after a disciplinary panel found he had placed bets on a number of golf events, the tour said on Wednesday.
DP World Tour said 26-year-old Penge did not place bets on himself or during the tournament, so the panel determined the integrity of such events was not compromised.
World No. 414 Penger was handed a three-month ban, which took effect on December 13, but for further breaches of the tour's integrity program he was handed a one-month ban for a year. Penge was also fined £2,000 ($2,539).
DP World Tour said Pengi's penalty was reduced because he immediately admitted the breach and cooperated throughout the investigation.
Penge, who most recently competed in November's Australian Open, finishing tied for 27th, can return to the DP World Tour from February 13.
