Drew Stoltz made his back-to-back appearances in the finals of the 2022 and 2023 Amateur Four-Ball Championships, and he knows how to succeed in the game.
In this week’s Emergency episode 9, Suppar co-hosts shared his best tips for getting an edge on opponents.
“My first goal was just hitting the green, putting the pressure back on them and then letting them react to your work,” he said.
The match is different from the stroke game: You have the opportunity to set the tone or react to your opponent’s match. This means your strategy can range from shooting to shooting.
“I usually play a little safer game in the game,” Stolz said. “It may depend on what the opponent does. If he’s already hit and he’s hitting one there, of course, you might need to attack the PIN instead of playing conservatively.”
For Stoltz, being confident in your device is key.
“One of the things that helps when I’m aggressive is knowing that I have the best hardcore in the game,” he said. “Cobra 3D printing can help me turn it into the right pin, the left pin, the low profile, the top, whatever I need.”
