Eddie Howe said his illness has been “difficult” recently, but he is happy to return to Newcastle United against Ipswich on Saturday.
Howe, 47, was hospitalized in pneumonia and missed the last three games of Hippies.
Assistants Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones were responsible for the victory over Manchester United and Crystal Palace and the last time they beat Aston Villa.
But Howe returned and said, “I’m fine. I’m not 100% inside, but I think I’m very close to 100% in my mind, and that’s the most important thing.

“The last few weeks have been tough. I’m trying to get a positive attitude from every experience, and I think it’s really important, but it’s a real challenge because you take your health for granted – I certainly have it.
“It can be very difficult when you don’t feel the luxury of being normal, so I’m sure going through a series of emotions. Fortunately, I feel like I’m on the road to recovery, and that’s the most important thing.
“I’m so happy to be here. The staff’s behavior and behavior are absolutely excellent, and it’s a real respect for them and now I’m back and hopefully I can add something to the group as we get into the last five games.”
Howe said once he got sick, he made a decision to completely get rid of his role and not stay in touch with Tandell and his staff.
He said: “I had zero contact. When I felt not enough to focus on football to give Jason and all the coaches full responsibility, I made a conscious decision because for me, you guys were either going to go all out or going all out and I couldn’t contribute.
“The care I received from the NHS is absolutely first-class. I can’t thank them so much, they are absolutely smart, I love and love for them.
“Of course, the good wishes and texts I received from everyone. I tried to answer everyone, it really took a while!
“I’m really grateful, I’m very grateful.”

Newcastle is on the fifth-place weekend – which will secure a Champions League position next season.
After they played Ipswich, they played against Brighton, Chelsea, Arsenal.
