UCLA assistant coach Bryant Ward talked with the Bruins in early practices about the importance of bunt coverage, but that message is part of a larger focus that permeates UCLA's fall season.
“Ball security, run prevention. Run prevention is definitely a focus in the fall,” head coach John Savage said. “We want to get back to Bruins pitching and Bruins defense.”
The Bruins are coming off the worst season of Savage's 20-year tenure at UCLA, and anything that could go wrong seems likely to happen, starting with injuries to the pitching staff forcing injuries to young pitchers[…]
