FIFA Club World Cup 2025 team, sharing £775 million in prize money – winner of £97 million in “Club Football Peak”
Manchester City and Chelsea earn up to £97 million in bonuses for the £775 million payment fund this summer – Premier League rivals will be one of the biggest recipients of £407 million to compete in the match.
Organizer FIFA has worked with the European Club Association (ECA) to agree to a deal that will enable clubs to base their economic incentives on all aspects, including the commercial value they bring to the tournament and the level of their global fan base.
In early June, player welfare considerations and international fixtures, including World Cup qualifiers and friendly matches, meant that some of the most high-profile stars were unlikely to be able to play until the late stages of the restructuring finals in the United States from June 14 to July 13.
£368 million will be awarded based on performances in the match for up to seven matches, with the club receiving the same amount in winning the prize.
The funding is based in part on an exclusive £775 million broadcast agreement in December consistent with sports streaming service DAZN.

Sources quoted by BBC Sport said FIFA and ECA are talking about “substantive solidarity payments” from non-participating clubs.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino claimed that the club World Cup would be “the pinnacle of club football” and “the entire welfare club, never did other games”.
Infantino also said FIFA “will not keep a dollar” as part of its investment in its forward development program between 2023 and 2026.

What is the structure of FIFA Club World Cup?
The improved club World Cup structure reflects FIFA’s international matches.
The 32 teams are divided into four four groups, each playing in a circular rotation format.
The first two of each group advance to the knockout stage. However, unlike the World Cup, this game will not include third place. The final is scheduled for July 13, 2025.

Why did Lionel Messi and Inter Miami play in FIFA Club World Cup?
A spot in the tournament was reserved for host clubs, and FIFA awarded the place to Miami based on their 2024 MLS supporters’ shield win and awarded the team with the best regular season record.

Why is the FIFA Club World Cup controversial?
FIFA is currently facing legal lawsuits from the Players’ Union and the League due to arrangement issues.
Critics believe that the football calendar is becoming “oversaturated”, posing risks to the safety and well-being of players.
