Cruz Azul forward Giorgios Giakoumakis said in his acceptance to The Daily Record that he admitted he hopes to return to the Celtic after the club successfully won three trophys.

He said: “Do you want to set fire? I want to play for the Celtic again. I don’t know if that’s a utopia or it could happen again – but who won’t?

“Even if you don’t know what it feels like there, you know exactly what that means when you’ve been there.”

In his career as a high-profile traveler, Giakoumakis has registered 118 senior goals for clubs and countries and introduced clubs in countries such as the Netherlands, Greece and the United States.

Frankly, it’s hard to know at this point whether the Celtic or financial scope would take him back to Parkhead. However, he is a popular figure in Glasgow and is still respected by many supporters, so “never say never” will apply to this particular situation.
