Al-NASSR manager Stefano Pioli said he believes his team has performed well despite facing criticism against Esteghlal in Tehran in the first leg of the AFC Champions League match 16.
Former AC Milan boss Pioli failed to win 11 of 11 games in 30 games since taking over Portugal coach Luis Castro at Saudi Professional League club on September 18, including two losses and one victory in the last five of all matches.

Why doesn’t Ronaldo play in Nasr, Iran?
Al Jazirah reported that Pioli said the captain and Saudi professional league top scorer Ronaldo was missing the “physical reason” of the 2,200 miles round trip.

Esteghlal vs al-Nassr
Pioli made four changes to Esteghlal, bringing Sadio Mane to Ronaldo, Nawaf Boushal for Majed Qashish and Wingers Qashish and wingers awad ali al-Hassan and Ayman Yahya for Abdulmajeed al-Sulayhem and Wesley Teixeira.
