Tiger Woods has all the memorable catalogue of shots, and even the best professional golfers have tried (and failed) recreated shots.
There are 2005 master chips. In the 2012 memorial, the water was very long. “Better than most putts” on TPC Sawgrass. The list continues.
However, an unforgettable forest shot left former DP World Tour player Mike Lorenzo-Vera was shocked when she tried to knock it down.

Lorenzo-Vera has been on a sliced podcast with Ben Coley and Sam Harrop and explains how his attempt to reproduce the 2019 Bunker shooting left him shocked at how Woods could achieve that.
“These guys can do things that even really good people can’t do,” Lorenzo-Vera said. “I can give you an example. Do you know the shot of a tiger hitting a tree from a trap? The year I went there and dropped six balls. I looked at the shot and I couldn’t even get within 40 meters [about 44 yards] green. The guy almost hit the shot with two clubs, fewer right-handed balls. Altitude, temperature, it is impossible to rotate the ball. That guy used a 140-meter-50-yard Nine-iron ball to rotate! And very high!
“Why are we not professional in France? Because no one can do it!”
Woods finished the match with his tenth tie in Mexico that week. But two months later, he roared again at Augusta National, winning his fifth green jacket and the 15th Big Championship.
As for Lorenzo-Vera, he announced last week that he would retire after his final appearance at the Omega European Masters in August.
The 40-year-old Frenchman has only four games on the DP World Tour since the Barracuda Championship last July. He decided to take a step back from golf last August due to panic attacks and cruel anxiety. Lorenzo-Vera returned to the course in January at the Dubai Desert Classic and ended with the 31st tie.
But Lorenzo-Vera decided that after 20 years as a professional golfer, it was time to hang out for the club.
His retirement announcement included thanks to his family, friends, fans and those who have always wanted to follow, including the man whose iconic bunker shot someone he had no chance to rebuild.
“Special thanks to my four idols: Jose Maria Olazabal, Fred and Davis Love III and of course the boss, Tiger Woods,” Lorenzo-Vera wrote.
