Every golfer wants to increase his swing speed, but knowing where to start can be difficult. There’s so much information out there that sifting all YouTube videos, training aids, and fitness programs to find the right gameplay is almost overwhelming.

However, with the right information, you can add a few MPHs this golf season.

Below, some top teachers in the country share their best tips for developing faster golf swing speeds. Try their suggestions to increase the speed of the game.

1. Interested

Intent is 9/10 of the law. Give all your strength! If you are not breathing, you won’t be working hard enough. When speed is working, it is best to ignore the flight of the ball to avoid ignoring the target. Also, be aware of the tension in your hands, forearms and shoulders. – John Dunigan

2. Choose low hanging fruit

Mobility work can improve your flexibility and allow you to extend the coil. This increases Clubhead travel and improves the length of your sequencing, which is key to creating speed. I also encourage my students to use light grip and practice breathing techniques to stay relaxed. From there, it depends on making a conscious effort. Let your arms, wrists and club head get rid of your body with a downward tilt; the result is almost always a quicker swing with a relaxed feeling. – Jeff Warne

3. Forgot the ball and focus on delivery

The easiest way to increase the speed is to remove the ball from the equation. Three exercises to swing back without stopping. Take a minute off. Then do it again, but this time try swinging faster. Take a minute off and repeat. As you gradually increase your speed each time, you will begin to understand the potential of speed.

Now, add the ball back. You want to try using the ball of the ball, or send out the speed as much as possible. When you put your newly discovered speed on the ball, remember that where the speed is delivered is as important as the speed of the swing. Many amateurs deliver too early and eventually slow down through the influence. Maintaining speed is the key to developing a fast, reliable swing. – Jim Murphy

4. Extend, then rotate

There is no way to swing faster. Usually case by case. However, I found that learning to extend the lead side correctly and rotate the lead hip can help many players swing faster as vertical and torque force increases. – Jonathan Yarwood
