A fleet of nine Kubota RTVs has been described as “key” to maintenance operations at Bearwood Lakes Golf Club in Berkshire, UK.
Supplied in 2023 by local dealer Lister Wilder, the fleet's versatility and range cover all on-field duties – from transport of personnel, equipment and materials, to use as ball pickers on the driving range!
Regularly ranked among the top 100 golf courses, the course has undergone significant reconstruction over the past eight years under the direction of course manager Andrew Whittaker. Bearwood Lakes has hosted a number of high-profile events over the past few years, including the Justin Rose Women's Series, Senior Open Qualifiers and Regional Open Qualifiers, which is testament to the progress made.
“When we were looking to upgrade our utility vehicles, we showcased a variety of makes and models, and the team was very unanimous in their love of the Kubota RTV,” explains Andrew. “For the rigors of summer and winter conditions on the golf course, as well as the additional demands of our winter projects that are primarily conducted in-house, the RTV gives us the versatility and power we need, as well as outstanding off-road capabilities. ”
The nine-unit fleet consists of four RTV-X1110 and five RTV-520 units in ROPS and cab specifications. “The team really likes the ability to have an enclosed cab and is a big hit when the weather turns! Four-wheel drive and hydraulic tips are other notable features that help us maximize operator safety and productivity .
In addition to user-friendly operation, comfort and efficiency, Andrew also noted the support from local Kubota dealers to ensure maintenance operations stay on track. “We're lucky to have a great shop manager at Bruce who cares about all our equipment and maintains high standards every day. But we also have Lister Wilder who's 15 minutes' drive from the club and got David · Great support from David Gray who guided us through the Kubota setup and made the process seamless for the team.
