Golf this week: 12 – 18, 2025
It was a professional week with a PGA championship on the schedule. To clear up some long-standing misunderstandings, the PGA Championship is not hosted by the PGA Tour.
PGA Tour: PGA Champion
The PGA Tour will compete in the PGA Championship.
Xander Schauffele is the defending champion.
For a list of all PGA Champion winners, follow the link.
I will again notice people on social media who have been in the PGA tour “monopoly” and PGAT has and has not participated in the major including the PGA champions. The PGA Championship (and Ryder Cup) is owned and operated by the PGA in the United States, which represents club, curriculum and teaching professionals.
DP World Journey Also known as European Journey: PGA Champion
The DP World Tour also hosts the PGA championships on their schedule.
LPGA: leave
LPGA is closed this week. Their next event is the Mexican Riviera Maya in Mayaboka May 22-25. This is a new event for 2025.
PGA Tour Champion: leave
The PGA Tour champion is not here this week. Their next EENT is the senior PGA champion at the Congressional CC from May 22 to 25.
Richard Bland is the defending champion. For all senior PGA champions’ loss, follow the link.
Korn Ferry Tour: Advent Health Championship
The Korn Ferry Tour held the AddingHealth Championship in Kansas City.
Harry Higgs is the defending champion.
PGA Tour Americas: leave
PGA Tour America is not there. Their next is the Inter Rapidsimo Golf Championship in Bogota from May 22 to 25.
APGA (Professional Golf Association of Advocates): Cisco Cup
APGA participates in the Cisco Cup from May 18 to 20.
Leaf: leave
TGL League: leave
