- Rocket Classic’s third annual Augusta Watch Party held in the first T-shirt Greater Detroit on April 12 at Rocket Classic at the Henry Ford Health Pistons Performance Center.
- The Augusta Watch Party is one of the major fundraisers for the first time each year, aiming to provide support golf programs for youth in Detroit.
- While guests will have the opportunity to watch the game and enjoy Augusta-themed food and drinks, they can also use our golf simulator, shoot baskets on the piston driving range, participate in the game, bid in the silent auction and more.
- It’s a unique opportunity to experience the Detroit Pistons exclusive facility, spend time with friends, and support Detroit, which has a larger tee in the first place.
And, if you don’t know the best work of Detroit, which has a larger tee, here are some highlights:
- First Tee is a youth development organization that enables children to build the power of character and enables children to challenge new abilities throughout their lives.
- By combining golf games with life skills lessons, we create positive learning experiences that build inner strength, confidence and resilience that children can carry everything they do.
- We see golf as a metaphor for a lifetime – a game with unexpected challenges and ups and downs that help build advantages beyond technical skills.
- Our goal is not only to teach valuable life skills, but also to create equity and opportunity for youths at the Detroit Metro to learn golf competitions.
- Founded in 1997, it has more than 150 first tee chapters nationwide, with 17,000 volunteers participating in the guidance and nurturing of 9 million children.
- We offer group golf courses for kids and teenagers aged 5-18 regardless of background or previous experience. The chapter provides access to all required devices.
- If the kids can’t afford us, we will never keep any kids away from our plans.
- Our programs will not be conducted at the expense of participants, but with the generous support of our community.
- Detroit Metropolis, the first T-shirt Great Detroit program from Bell Island to Luckham to Chandler Park. Recently, we expanded our footprint and started working with St. John’s Hotel in Plymouth last year.
- In 2024, we have over 400 children participating in our program.
- Registration is currently open for our Spring and Summer Program –
