Hall of Fame George Brett tells about the biggest golf course crash

Hall of Fame third baseman George Brett is known for his fiery side in his game against the Kansas City Royals.

Brett’s Explosion of Angry During the 1983 “Pine Tar Incident” was a showcase of the calories of the legendary third baseman running on a diamond. In the 1983 match between the Royals and the New York Yankees, Brett hit Goose Gossage’s ninth home run in the ninth inning. But Yankees manager Billy Martin opposes the amount of Pine Tar on Brett’s bats. Home plate referee Tim McClelland checked the bat. He eventually excluded Brett and banned home runs, which ended the game, causing Brett to run out of the canoe to quarrel with McClelland. When Brett faces McClelland, he needs to be bound by his manager and several teammates.

Brett’s competitive fires burned on the golf course, too, but he appeared in the latest episode of Golf’s Subpar podcast and told co-hosts Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz that he wasn’t irritated on the court – except once.

“We played in Palm Springs for years,” Brett said. “I was having a bad time and my two friends were laughing at me.
