With the first night of Christmas and Hanukkah rarely happening on the same day, Happy Gilmore himself gave fans a holiday surprise on Wednesday by releasing the first trailer for the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 .
Adam Sandler, who played the hockey player turned professional golf prodigy and will reprise the role in the upcoming Netflix film, took to Twitter late Wednesday morning to address his 310 Fans posted this trailer.
The majority of the 33-second clip features Sandler sporting his now-iconic mustache and wearing the iconic Boston Bruins jersey from the original 1996 film. However, the clip also confirmed the appearance of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and rapper Bad Bunny in the film.
Fans of Allen Covert's performance as homeless caddy Otto in the original film may be disappointed, as based on the trailer, Bad Bunny appears to have taken over as Gilmore's Caddy character. It's often said that you never want to be the first caddy for an up-and-comer (see “Fluff” Cowan and Tiger Woods), so Otto seems to have fallen victim to this trend.

The trailer does confirm the appearance of two of Gilmore's costars from the original film. No official release date has been given for the sequel, which will stream exclusively on Netflix, but a banner at the end of the trailer confirms a 2025 release. The film will be directed by Kyle Newacheck.
