There are a lot of things that can be difficult for anyone who is just starting golf.
Figuring out where to go, where to stand, and when to stay quiet is just some of the daunting scenes that beginners face when playing the game for the first time. Newbie gamers may also be curious about the device. What do these clubs do in the world, how exactly do they work, and how many times do you allow it? A good question!
Here is everything you need to know about how many clubs there are in the golf bag and the specific roles of each club.
How many clubs are there in the golf bag?
Golf rules allow players to carry up to 14 clubs – but if you don’t want to, you don’t have to carry that much! Actually, beginners may only be able to hit a few clubs, which is totally good. You can carry any club you want, as long as you have 14 or fewer clubs in a round bag.
A typical 14 club bag setup consists of a driver, two fairways, two hybrids, five irons, three wedges and a putter.
What does every golf club do?
Golf clubs are designed to perform different functions. Some are built to go further, while others are designed to reach higher trajectories so they can land gently on the green.
driver
The driver is the largest and longest club in the bag. It is designed to be hit by a tee so you can lower the ball along the fairway as much as possible. Many drivers today are adjustable, meaning you can move weights over the club head to promote certain performance benefits.

Fairway wood
Fairway Forest has many different lofts. The higher the attic, the easier it is to catch the ball and airborne it is. When it comes to distance, the lower the number on fairway wood, you can expect it to go further. Most players have 3 and 5 wood in their schoolbags, but many players have also started adding 7 wood or even 9 wood.
Fairway Woods is useful for longer shots on 4 and 5, and you may also need to use them on 3 and 3.
Hybrid
The hybrid is a useful club, a combination of fairway wood and iron. Hybrids are easier to hit than iron, especially in difficult lies. Many casual players have at least one or two hybrids in the package, usually replacing 4 and 3 iron.
iron
Irons usually include most clubs in golf handbags. Most sets include 9 iron, 8 iron, 7 iron, 6 iron and 5 iron. Some players like to hit the iron until 2 irons. But for beginners, hybrid and fairway forests (see above) often replace longer irons.
The iron is designed to approach the club – you choose to hit the green club and hit the more precise position. A defeat shot with iron will have a high trajectory so that the ball can gently land on the green.
wedge
The wedge is the tallest iron in a golf handbag. They are designed for short distances and can be used for short distances in green or for lenses that need to be carried on obstacles. Most players choose to carry tilted wedges, gap wedges, and sand wedges, but depending on your play style, you can modify many different combinations.
Putter
Putters are the club with the least loft in the bag. There are many different styles to choose from, but they all share in common: All putters are designed to put the ball on the ground and roll along the real line towards the target.
