How pajama golf becomes a club stamping business

Just a quick look at Julian Williams’ Instagram and it’s not hard to tell how he makes a living.

Williams’ Golf gradually became one of the most famous names for custom wedge-shaped wedges and irons, with intricate designs ranging from flowers to dragons and even recreating the landscape behind the wedges.

But Williams only started stamping the golf club six to seven years ago when a friend told him how he was used to the club but wanted to further design the wedge.

“I was forging a knife, working with the hammer and stuff, and he was just approaching me and like, ‘Can you do this stamp work?’” He recalls Golf’s full-equipped co-host on Golf during this week’s episode. “And I was like, ‘I don’t know.'”

Williams went to a hardware store, bought $10 stamps and cheap hammers, and went to work. Soon, he found himself good at it and was just working for his friends.

So, eventually, he began promoting his work on social media, a way to fund golf. But soon, he discovered that his newly discovered business might become much bigger than that.

“In a six-month window, I stood out from thinking, you know, something can fund my golf game,” Williams said. “Now suddenly, making money, now I don’t have time to play golf.

“It’s a thin line of walking, you know, playing for a while, not really understanding where I want to go, not that I really like the golf community, like, you know, you end up enjoying meeting people who do this kind of thing. It’s like in this world, I don’t know, it’s more fun than anything.”
