Vancouver Canucks have team options on Rick Tocchet
Thomas Drance of the Athlete: The Vancouver Canucks holds a team option for head coach Rick Tocchet next season, a team source said Canucks see Tocchet as head coach next season and they intend to exercise the option. Tocchet said he doesn’t want to talk about his contract situation right now because they focus on the playoffs.
“I think it’s better to wait for me, so we can really sit down and talk because I don’t have time to talk about my contract, and in a sense, you know…I’m all on this team right now,” Tocchet said in a recent radio interview with SportsNet 650.
“This happens at the right time. It’s really that way. I can’t really focus on these things. Every day we come in, we really focus on a lot of different things. I’m comfortable and I think they are the same. When the right time is, we can spend some time, we can spend some time where we are going, what we are going, etc.”
Tocchet reportedly earns $2.75 million per season. The Canucks may want to sign him in the offseason to sign him and he will get a good raise.
K’Andre Miller will get his expansion and find D companion for Adam Fox
