The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction saw many players being sold for high prices. However, there are also players who, despite being among the most experienced players in the league, have not attracted any bidders at all.

In this mega auction, some fast bowlers were fetched at high prices such as Arshdeep Singh (INR 18 Crores) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (INR 1.07. 50 Crores INR). However, there are other veteran Pacers who remain unsold at auction. One of them is 37-year-old Vidarbha fast bowler Umesh Yadav, who played for the Gujarat Titans last season. The fact that Umesh did not get any bidder has upset former Indian cricketers and commentators Akash Chopra Who thinks he should at least be acquired for his base price.

“No one spoke Umesh Yadav But he wasn't chosen. He was probably feeling sad because they all played with him, they were captains of different teams, and he had someone to talk to. I do feel the pain because it hurts when you play cricket for a long time and you think you have given a lot to cricket,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

“He is not saying that he should be bought for Rs 15 crore, but at least someone should buy him for Rs 1-15 crore. It is not that his shelf life has passed. So, my opinion on Ume Umesh Yadav was full of sympathy because no one chose him or even spoke to him,” Chopra added.

Talking about Umesh Yadav's performance in the IPL, he has so far played 148 games for four teams and taken 144 wickets at an average of 29.97 and an economy rate of 8.49. Last season, he took eight wickets in seven games with an economy rate of 10.00 and an average of 26.25.
